InfoSense Supporting Entrepreneurship in Charlotte By Attending Democratic National Convention Events

InfoSense is pleased to announce that we will be participating in three events centered on supporting the discussion of entrepreneurship at the DNC in Charlotte.

InfoSense will be part of the Legacy Village on Monday September 3rd where we will highlight the fundamental partnership between UNC-Charlotte, Charlotte Mecklenburg Utilities, and private enterprise in the development of our acoustic pipe inspection technology.

Secondly, InfoSense will be featured in the Charlotte Creates exhibit all week at Packard Place.  Highlighting the creativity that went in to our solution for helping wastewater system operators reduce their sewer overflows using acoustic inspection.

Thirdly, InfoSense will be participating in the Huffington Post sponsored Entrepreneurship Expo at the Ritz Carlton on September 5th.  HuffPo/StartUp Challenge Expo Charlotte 2012

Legacy Village – Monday September 3, 2012    The Charlotte in 2012 Convention Host Committee is a non-profit, non-partisan organization established by the city of Charlotte to fulfill obligations of the master contract with the Democratic National Convention Committee. In addition to those obligations, Charlotte in 2012 will host CarolinaFest 2012, a free family friendly Labor Day Celebration that will occur in Uptown Charlotte to kick off the convention. During CarolinaFest and the convention, the Legacy Village will highlight efforts by the community and our partners to support Charlotte Mayor Anthony Foxx’s convention legacy programs. The Legacy Village will be home to engaging exhibits and fun activities that will inspire festivalgoers to take steps to become involved in their communities and carry these legacies forward. The four convention legacy programs are; Healthy Children, Healthy Families; Youth Employment and Civic Education; Building a Broader, More Inclusive Economy; and Energy, Technology, and Sustainability. InfoSense is excited to announce that our Sewer Line Rapid Assessment Tool or SL-RAT product has been named a winner of the 2012 WEF Innovative Technology Award.   The stringent award criteria require products to “demonstrate an innovative aspect utilizing new ideas” as well as “demonstrate a significant achievement in design, operation, maintenance or process change resulting in demonstrated long-term water quality improvement”, and to have been in field use for one to five years.

SL-RAT Team Inspects 8,000 feet of Sewer Line in 5 Hours

A team of two inspectors showed a South Carolina military installation the meaning of the words “Rapid Assessment” last week. The team, using the InfoSense SL-RAT tool, acoustically inspected 8,000 feet of gravity-fed sewer lines for blockages and full pipe sags between 9am and 2pm.

Our onsite assessment found 1600 feet of pipe that order lasix overnight delivery needs to be cleaned in 4 segments – avoiding the cleaning of 22 segments or 6400 feet!

InfoSense Attending North Carolina Spring Fling in Wilmington, NC

Please visit us in Booth #401 at the North Carolina AWWA-WEA Spring Conference Wilmington Convention Center – Wilmington, NC.  We will be showcasing our SL-RAT™ device and the acoustic pipe inspection method that underlies its success.
