InfoSense is excited to announce that our Sewer Line Rapid Assessment Tool or SL-RAT product has been named a winner of the 2012 WEF Innovative Technology Award. The stringent award criteria require products to “demonstrate an innovative aspect utilizing new ideas” as well as “demonstrate a significant achievement in design, operation, maintenance or process change resulting in demonstrated long-term water quality improvement”, and to have been in field use for one to five years.
Dr. Ivan Howitt, the inventor of the SL-RAT technology commented “this award shows that InfoSense’s acoustic inspection technology is being embraced by the water industry. And, it is gratifying to be recognized by WEF for the Sewer Line Rapid Assessment Tool’s ability to solve the real-world problems of better assessing aging pipe infrastructure, efficiently directing cleaning resources, and ultimately reducing SSO’s.”
